Strand Street Crossing
A playful street mural across the St George's / Strand pedestrian crossing, designed by local designer Heather Moore (Skinny laMinx).
Putting pedestrians first
A new street mural runs across the St George's / Strand pedestrian crossing — a playful pattern created by local designer Heather Moore of Skinny laMinx.
The intention is simple: bring attention to St George's Mall as a pedestrian path that vehicles cross, not the other way around. The ultimate objective is to improve the pedestrian experience, and to motivate for the permanent paving of the crossing.
“I stumbled across something beautiful.”

WHAT'S NEXT
We're using the crossing as a case study to push the City to raise and permanently pave it in the 2027/28 infrastructure upgrade — and to roll the creative-crossings model out across the inner city.
