Who we are

This website is run by Inner City Brand Project NPC, trading as Mission for Inner City (registered non-profit organisation 318-463, Section 18A public benefit organisation 930086672), of 61 Shortmarket Street, Cape Town 8000. In this notice "we" and "us" mean that organisation. We are the responsible party for the personal information described below under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect, and why

We collect only what each interaction needs. Nothing on this site asks for more than that, and we never buy or rent lists.

• Email updates. If you sign up through the menu or the footer, we store your email address, the name you give us if you give one, the date and time, and which page you signed up from. We use this to send you occasional updates about Mission for Inner City's work. Signing up is your consent to receive them, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
• Partnership enquiries. The enquiry form on our Get Involved page does not send anything to a server. It opens a draft in your own email app with what you typed, and only what you choose to send reaches us. We use it to reply to you.
• Donations. Online donations are processed by PayFast, a South African payment provider. Your card or bank details are entered on PayFast's pages and never reach us. PayFast tells us who donated, how much, and to which fund, so that we can issue a receipt (including a Section 18A certificate where you ask for one) and keep the accounts. PayFast's own privacy policy governs what it holds.
• Email and correspondence. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your request.

Cookies and analytics

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising analytics. The site is hosted by Framer, which processes the technical information any web server needs to deliver a page, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to serve and secure the site.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or share your information for marketing. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, under their own security and data-protection terms:

• Google (Google Workspace): our email, and the spreadsheet where email sign-ups are stored.
• Framer: website hosting.
• PayFast: donation processing.

Google and Framer may store information on servers outside South Africa. Where they do, it is protected by their standard data-protection terms, which meet the requirements of POPIA for transfers across borders. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
• Donation records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
• Enquiries and correspondence: for as long as we need them to deal with the matter, then deleted.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it, and withdraw any consent you have given. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

To unsubscribe from email updates, use the link in any email we send you, or write to info@missionforinnercity.org. For anything else, email the same address and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you believe we have handled your information unlawfully, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za or complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.

Changes to this notice

If the way we handle information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Nothing in this notice limits your rights under POPIA.
