Love Long Street

A Motel7 mural running the full width of a Long Street facade, three storeys up: flat pinks, blues and tans, cartoon characters leaning out around the windows, and the words LOVE LONG STREET at its end.

Something worth looking up at

Long Street carries more foot traffic, more nightlife and more of Cape Town's reputation than any other street in the inner city, and almost all of it is experienced at eye level: doorways, shopfronts, the pavement.

This mural is three storeys up. It runs the full width of the building above the shopfronts, in flat pinks, blues and tans, with cartoon characters arranged so that the existing windows become part of them. The words LOVE LONG STREET are painted into the right-hand end.

It was painted by Motel7, off a cherry picker over several days, in full view of the street below.
