Cape Town Furniture Week

Four days of contemporary design in the heart of the city

Cape Town Furniture Week is a 4-day design festival for contemporary furniture, lighting and homeware in the heart of the city, held from 18 to 21 February 2026. Launched in 2023, it has grown year on year into one of South Africa's premier design platforms, championing Cape Town's contemporary furniture industry through a district-based, walkable format that pulls visitors into spaces of the inner city they'd otherwise never see.

The 2026 edition centred on the Africa Bank Building on St George's Mall as its Festival Hub, which welcomed 2 863 recorded visitors over the four days. Total festival attendance was estimated at 5 000. The programme also hosted an Inner City Voices “Urban Design” panel on public seating, where we announced the SIT(E) public seating project in partnership with VISI Magazine.
