STRAND STREET CROSSING

More than 120 000 people use St. George’s Mall every day to get where they need to be in the Inner City. It is a vital corridor for so many people who visit, work, or live here. St. George’s Mall also happens to cross over one of the busier streets of the Inner City: Strand Street.

We knew an intervention was necessary to improve pedestrian safety, so we enlisted the design skills of Heather Moore of Skinny laMinx. Her design not only highlights the crossing for improved safety, but it brings a sense of wonder and delight to everybody’s daily walk. If you’re in the Inner City, take a stroll along St. George’s Mall to appreciate the power of public art.
