SHORTMARKET STREET
LIGHTING
If you walk from the corner of Loop and Shortmarket to the corner of Bree and Shortmarket (it’s about 100 paces), you’ll walk past a host of cafés and eateries spilling out onto this paved red brick street – not to mention some of the Inner City’s retail stalwarts (and the Mission’s HQ). Tables and chairs are filled with people from all walks of life enjoying the fine fare and observing the people and rhythms of the city. But when night falls the experience isn’t quite as enchanting due to a lack of adequate lighting.
So what better place to deliver yet another upgrade? With the collaboration of Litehouse and building owners on this section of Shortmarket, we were able to install another section of low-energy festoon lighting to bring a safe, warm, and welcoming glow to this much-loved section of Shortmarket Street.
