OPEN STUDIOS

As part of Open Studios Cape Town – an annual evening celebrating architecture and urban design – the Mission for the Inner City opened its doors to the public for the very first time. The exhibition showcased work across the Mission’s five pillars: Seating & Greening, Lighting, Walking Routes & Wayfinding, Public Art Activations & Events, and Retail Curation.

In partnership with the City of Cape Town’s Urban Design and Mobility Units, the space also featured interventions and plans that highlight the city’s commitment to accessibility and people-centred design. The event drew a strong turnout, inspiring students, practitioners, and engaged citizens – fostering new connections and shared momentum toward a more vibrant, inclusive, and walkable inner city.
