LONG STREET MURAL

A blank stretch of wall on upper Long Street was begging for a bright, colourful piece of public art. Luckily for us (and Long Street), the surrounding building owners unanimously agreed and that kicked the project off.

Love Long Street, the Mission and SJ Artists collaborated to make this part of the Inner City feel more welcoming, loved and alive. It started with a simple idea: when building owners take care of their “front yards”, adding greenery, lighting and moments of creativity, the whole street benefits. 

Artist Motel Seven was invited to paint a fun, energetic and unmistakably Cape Town-inspired mural that adds colour, humour and warmth to the street. It’s a small shift with a big impact, a reminder of how creativity, care and collaboration can change how a place feels.
