BREE STREET GALLERY

Once a blank stretch of pavement beneath the Bree Street Gallery murals, this section of Bree Street lacked places to sit in the shade, enjoy the art and the people watching.

In collaboration with local partners, the Mission introduced a series of lightweight concrete planters with integrated seating – offering a simple, durable, and movable solution that adds both comfort and greenery to the edge of the gallery.

The intervention transforms the space into an inviting pocket of rest and conversation, where art, people, and plants coexist. By softening the street edge and encouraging dwell time, the benches and planters bring life to the gallery frontage and reinforces Bree Street as one of the city’s most walkable, welcoming corridors.
