BREE STREET GALLERY

What was once the disused Bree Street substation has been reclaimed as a vibrant public art gallery – transforming a forgotten utility site into a showcase of local creativity. The walls now feature large-scale mural works by some of Cape Town’s most celebrated artists, including Kirsten Sims, Yay Abe, Xolani Sivunda, Danielle Clough, KOOOOOS, Aviwe Plaatjie, Marti Lund, Lelethu Fundakubi, Amy-Lee Tak, and Paul du Toit.

The gallery brings colour, culture, and conversation back to the street, creating a new anchor point for the Inner City Art Walk – a growing Mission initiative connecting public art, walking routes, and civic pride across the city centre.
